Once again, the papers have been aggrovating United and stirring up more speculation, linking Carlos Tevez with a move to Spanish champions Real Madrid.
Tevez has been in the shadows of Dimitar Berbatov this season and the Argentine's two year loan spell ends in the summer, will he stay and sign a contract with United or will he go? Anyway this is what I had to say on MUTV:-

Neville: Fine Anderson

It seems the Manchester United high-jinks continue as club captain Gary Neville is the latest member of the reigning double champions' squad to be pranked...

Manchester United team pulled a collective prank on Portuguese wing wizard Cristiano Ronaldo.

United's No 7 was snapped leaving a nightclub with sweat rings on the underarms of his jacket. Ronaldo then turned up to training to find that hundreds of deodorants and perfumes had been stuffed into his locker in the dressing room.

Gary Neville is the latest squad member to be tricked by his team-mates.

The Sunday Mirror now claims that Brazilian midfielder Anderson found a field mouse that he quickly caught and put down the back of club captain Gary Neville's shirt.

The tabloid says that Neville told Anderson he would be fined while comically clawing at his back and cursing so loudly that Sir Alex Ferguson could only look on and laugh: "You'll be fined!" The Sunday Mirror quote Neville as saying.

Prior to the 2006 World Cup Rio Ferdinand released an MTV-style show called 'Merked', where he pulled tricks on his England team-mates including Wayne Rooney, who thought he had killed a dog, Shaun Wright-Phillips, who was under the impression he had upset a waiter, and David Beckham, who got so scared that he jumped out of a moving car.

What makes a true Red?

As a Geordie, born and bred in Gateshead, I'm going to reveal why I'm deeply proud to support United despite not hailing from Manchester...

I hear it all the time, ‘nobody from Manchester supports United’, 'you're just a glory seeking turncoat', or, for me, ‘why do you support them? They’re not your local team’.

It’s a myth that there aren’t any Reds in Manchester. It’s just that United have such a huge global fan base that the Manchester supporters make up a small, but very important, proportion of the overall number.

Do you have to be from Manchester to be a Red? I’m not. I’m from Newcastle. But does that make me less of a fan? Not at all. In fact, I think it shows great dedication if supporters travel long distances just to be inside Old Trafford for 90 minutes to watch the Reds. Plenty of North Eastern fans, and supporters from around the world, turn up at OT on home match days, all equally dedicated to the United cause.

It’s true that the team’s mass appeal has grown through marketing, pre-season tours and, of course, the incredible success of the team under Sir Alex Ferguson. Believe it or not, where I'm from, there has been a link with the Reds for a lot longer than in most other parts of the world. In the North east the majority of the football-loving population is split between Newcastle United and Sunderland, with a smaller number supporting a selection of the other English clubs.

The North-East, has had a long affinity with United because of the large roll call of Northern players who have donned the famous shirt over the years, giving an obvious link for football fans in the North East who wanted to support a top English team. Bobby Charlton, Steve Bruce, Bryan Robson, Gary Pallister, and Michael Carrick are just some of those who have played with United and helped create a strong Northern-Manchester bond. Michael Carrick continues to fly the flag.

Every sports shop in Britain, stocks United merchandise and everyone, young and old, snap up new shirts and wear them with pride around their city or town. Kids turn up to their local football clubs for training dressed head-to-toe in United kit, dreaming of following in the footsteps of the north-eastern based players, that have run out at Old Trafford.

There’s a great passion for United everywhere you go, but it’s not only about seeing your countrymen in the red strip that gets people excited. Many are born and bred into it, myself included.

Hundreds head over from County Durham, Newcastle and elsewhere every weekend, paying over-inflated prices for their tickets to Old Trafford, some go in cars, buses or even coaches, facing three hours or more of traveling. All for 90 minutes cheering on their team. To me that’s dedication. There’s a community spirit among travelling Reds, too. Every major town and city in the UK has its own supporters club, organising trips over and enjoying the banter on the way.

To me, these fans along with the many others all over the world who travel to support United help make this club what it is. Even with so many people from different backgrounds, there is a sense of belonging. So what if you don’t live on Old Trafford’s doorstep. We’ve all got one thing in common, and that’s a love for following United. If you’ve got that, no matter where you’re from, you’re a true supporter.
